Rising Kindergarten Elevate Academy Program Instructor Summer 2022 Required Qualifications:
State issued Teaching Certificate
Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
MSDE Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood Education certification (Pre-K)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent attendance - Teachers must commit to participate and engage students daily throughout the program
Prepare high quality, engaging lesson plans
Assist with the registration process of students by calling and/or emailing the families of recruited students to respond to questions, as requested by the Elevate Coordinator
Share daily learning targets with the students
Provide a regular schedule of academic activities for students and families and communicate regularly
Facilitate enrichment activities and programming
Supervise the breakfast, arrival, and/or dismissal of students as directed by the Elevate Coordinator
Monitor students during instruction and provide frequent and ongoing feedback based on individual needs
Provide social and emotional learning support to students through the use of a daily morning meetings or classroom check-in
Plan and teach the core subjects using the systemic resources provided (i.e. prioritized standards, coursework, etc.)
Differentiate for students’ needs, depending on level
Ensure students follow current Safety and Health Guidelines (i.e., masks, social distancing, frequent hand washing)
Differentiate for students’ needs and provide flexible grouping opportunities
Engage with students, families, and other staff members in positive ways
Use program materials for the intended program only and return all materials to the Elevate Coordinator at the conclusion of the program
Co-teach with other academic teachers, when appropriate
Prepare timesheets for signature by Elevate Coordinator according to pay schedule, in a timely manner and/or accurately report time using the TCP Webclock
Be prepared to support an in-person, virtual or hybrid program, as determined by FCPS leadership
Use the SIOP model of instruction, as appropriate, to enhance instructional opportunities
Participate in Parent/ Teacher Conferences, as needed
Communicate with families weekly using the Progress Reporting Tool
Use One Drive to maintain records related to academic progress and family outreach, as requested by the Elevate Coordinator
Participate in surveys and focus groups as planned by the Grant Coordinator and Elevate Coordinator
Engage positively with partners and enrichment staff, assisting in the supervision of these activities as requested by the Elevate Coordinator
Supply documentation to the Central Office Grant Coordinator and Elevate Coordinator as requests (i.e. Lesson plans, assessments, work samples, progress reports, contact logs with families)
Attend the Elevate Academy Teacher Training (June 2022 - Location and Time TBD)

Physical Requirements
Frequent prolonged and/or irregular hours.
Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone and in addressing groups.
Ability to travel to school and other local locations, as well as state meetings, sometimes with little notice.

8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Salary:
34.59 / hr
Teachers will work daily from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm at the Elementary School level, to support the implementation of the program. Teachers will receive 5.5 hours of pay throughout the duration of the program (5.5 hours x 4 days a week x 5 weeks) - 4 hours of program implementation and 1.5 additional hours are provided (45 minutes minimum planning and 45 minutes at the Elevate Coordinator’s discretion for supervision support).
