Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The individual reports to the Specimen processing Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of laboratory service. Special knowledge and expertise are used in performing the technical aspects of the job. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are used in customer service and with co-workers. Performs routine laboratory tasks, including performing sample processing and other experimental procedures, maintaining stocks, maintaining laboratory records, and other lab works. This is considered an position for individuals with some experience in laboratory procedures and can start working with without lengthy training.

Works under the direction of the Manager for specimen processing or senior laboratory personnel. Completes assigned work independently and responsively.
