The Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC) works with the HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) with the intent of creating a more integrated, collaborative and flexible research structure. The networks are an affiliated group of national and international medical research institutions and investigators that conduct clinical HIV/AIDS research to develop safe and effective drugs, prevention strategies, and vaccines. HANC is located within Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center’s Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division (VIDD). This position is based in Seattle, Washington.

The primary responsibility of the HANC Project Coordinator I position is to provide administrative support to the HANC Director and other HANC staff as assigned by HANC Director. The Project Coordinator I will assist in the coordination of HANC activities across the NIH-funded HIV clinical trials networks and related efforts to support the HANC mission. The HANC Project Coordinator I is expected to use initiative in carrying out responsibilities as defined by the HANC Director.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage meeting scheduling on behalf of the HANC Director and Deputy Director.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics related to HANC Leadership special projects, including the following:
    • Efforts to enhance the science and operations of the HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks.
    • Assisting with Evidence2Practice efforts engaging HBCU/MSI students around HIV prevention.
    • Tuberculosis vaccine community engagement efforts.
    • Other special projects as assigned.
  • Complete working group call minutes and follow-up on action items, ensuring all tasks are completed according to project timelines.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics related to HANC staff travel, including meetings and conferences.
  • Manage the HANC public website, social media accounts, marketing materials, and other information technology-related tasks.
  • Share tasks, provide coverage, and support HANC colleagues as needed.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of one year post-master's or three years post-bachelor's project coordination experience in a research setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level knowledge of Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook

The hourly pay range for this position is from $30.30 to $45.43 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
