Vice President - Development and Communications

For this role, the team is seeking an experienced Fundraising, Marketing and Communications professional to identify, cultivate, solicit, or arrange for the solicitation of individuals, families, and family foundations with the philanthropic capacity to make a general operating, designated and/or capital gifts in support of Fred Finch’s mission. The Vice President will manage all individuals based on the team’s needs and partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to identify fundraising opportunities.

Overview

The Vice President of Development and Communiation receives administrative direction from the Chief Executive Officer. Exercises direct supervision over professional, technical, and administrative support staff through subordinate levels of supervision.

The position oversees, directs, and participates in all activities of the Development and Communication Division, including short- and long-term planning as well as development and administration of divisional policies, procedures, and services.

The Vice President provides assistance to the Chief Executive Officer in a variety of administrative, coordinative, analytical, and liaison capacities. Successful performance of the work requires knowledge of Fred Finch functions and activities, including the role of the Board of Directors, and the ability to develop, oversee, and implement projects and programs in a variety of areas. Responsibilities include coordinating the activities of the division with those of other divisions and outside agencies and managing and overseeing the complex and varied functions of the division. The incumbent is accountable for accomplishing divisional planning and operational goals and objectives.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, public or business administration, or a related field.

Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible increasingly responsible experience in fundraising and/or grants administration, including three (3) years of related supervisory or program management experience.
