What will my day-to-day look like as a tax associate?

Each day as a tax professional is a little bit different than the last so there's never a dull moment in the tax department! Some of your daily activities may include:

  • Working on a variety of assignments, such as preparing tax returns, communicating with taxing authorities, writing memos, or attending client meetings
  • Collaborating with professionals from associate to partner with diverse skill sets and areas of expertise on client matters
  • Engaging in regular discussions with your colleagues to exchange ideas and feedback
  • Attending training sessions to sharpen your technical skills and learn how to best serve your clients
  • Participating in firm social events to build relationships with your F&D family

What skills do I need?

Although we teach you almost everything you need to know, there are a few requirements you must meet. Check them out here:

  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning new things
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Written and verbal communication skills that demonstrate professionalism
  • A strong work ethic and eagerness to follow through on assignments
  • The openness to giving and receiving honest feedback
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must have an undergraduate degree in accounting
  • Graduate degree in accounting preferred
  • Must have 150 credit hours and be eligible to sit for the CPA exam
