Fraser is Hiring a PMHNP-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Part Time - Full Time Near Bloomington, MN

This position works closely with Fraser families and staff to integrate psychiatric medication(s) into a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses individual strengths and challenges. Performs diagnostic evaluations/assessment, administers medication therapies, leads medical management, charts treatment, and actively collaborates with other members of the client care team.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate client management with Triage Nurse and other members of Integrated Healthcare.
  • Assess psychiatric, neurological and psychopharmacological status of clients.
  • Participate in the planning and development of psychiatric and mental health services.
  • Provide high quality mental health client care as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Complete diagnostic evaluations/assessments; medication therapies and medical management.
  • Evaluate clients in crisis for hospitalization, safety planning and pharmacological intervention as needed.
  • Complete thorough and accurate documentation of client encounters, maintain clinical files and up to date records.
  • Collaborate with team members; provide consultation as needed.
  • Direct care encounters may include prescription and management of medication, order and interpretation of labs, order of consultations or referrals and education and psychotherapy to clients.
  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments in accordance with care plan.
  • Oversee the development of policies, protocols, and establish standards of practice for pharmacological procedures.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities to support client care.
  • Build rapport and establish effective working relationships with clients and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • If needed, provide oversight of RN team providing education, support to clients on an individual or group basis.

Requirements
  • Masters degree from an accredited psychiatric nursing program required. Doctorate in Nursing (DNP) preferred.
  • Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center required.
  • Current active Minnesota APRN licensure required.
  • Current BLS/CPR Certification required.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain status of “may provide direct contact for this agency” upon completion of criminal background studies.
  • Experience working in the community with pediatric populations with behavioral health needs preferred.
  • Ability to perform office-related duties as well as carry out responsibilities in clinic and community-based settings. Ability to work off-site and travel as needed.
  • Reasoning: Ability to understand and implement all related regulations according to Fraser policy and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Proficiency in foreign language with the ability to communicate orally and in writing to children and families of a foreign language preferred.
  • If required to drive, the following requirements must be met:
    • Possession of a valid Minnesota driver’s license and maintenance of a satisfactory driving record consistent with Fraser policy, required by specific needs of the individuals receiving services.
    • Access to a reliable vehicle in working order.
