7 hours per day (7:45 am - 3:15 pm) Rotating Schedule

Part Time

This position is a part time, school year assignment with rotating work days, 2 to 3 days per week.Responsibilities:- Willing to be trained in and perform all health room procedures and protocols.- Administer medications by a variety of routes, including oral, nasal, eye, ear, topical, inhaled, rectal, and injectable.- Willing to be trained to perform medical interventions such as wound care and respiratory interventions.- Respond to emergency medical situations involving staff or students.- Be familiar with all school rules and procedures and provide assistance and direction to students in a positive but firm manner.- Perform additional tasks as appropriate to assist in caring for students.

- Previous experience in healthcare setting serving the pediatric population preferred.- High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of Associates Degree preferred.- Certification as a nursing assistant or licensure as a nurse according to State guidelines preferred.- Ability to maintain student confidentiality as it relates to HIPAA and FERPA laws.- Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork as a part of the health services and school building teams by assisting other students, parents, and staff members as necessary.- Ability to approach individuals with a variety of physical and mental health needs with care, empathy, and sound judgment skills.- Experience with electronic data entry and comfort with/willingness to learn about a variety of computer-based programs.- Interest in working with students with lifelong illness in addition to those with acute injuries or illness to maximize their ability to meet their academic goals and be present at school.- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
