The primary purpose of the Business Service Officer classification is to monitor, coordinate, and control the fiscal expenditures and provide customer service and assistance.
Provide administrative support by performing customer service and administrative duties for the agency director and assistant director; research and completes paperwork regarding requests for grants. Verbal and written communication on behalf of the director's, as requested. Oversee and maintain calendar and contacts. Schedule meetings, complete travel arrangements for both in and out of state travel. Complete travel request and employee reimbursement for travel and maintain associated files. Research, purchase, set up and maintenance of all agency cell phones and liaison between agency and cellular provider. Order office supplies, and agency liaison between agency and office supply distributor, perform year-end completion of office inventory and prepare and submit inventory worksheets. Oversee storage of documents and office paperwork to remote location and liaison between agency and storage company. Attend meetings and prepares reports for charitable campaigns. Agency liaison with Lazarus building staff, set meetings, dates for inspections, written and verbal correspondence with Lazarus building manager for agency concerns. Agency safety liaison for safety drills; fire, tornado, etc. Maintain building/office equipment information.
 
Maintain loan portfolio and oversee compliance with release(s) and subordination requests in relationship to home modification, sewer repair and down payment assistance grants. Coordinate, monitor and review loan documents, loss and profit statements, HUD statements, inspections/appraisals and establish related correspondence to financial institutions and title agencies per procedures for subordination request. Verify and supply lenders/title agencies with payoff letters in relationship to re-payments, receives/logs payments. Receives and completes request for "work-out" plan; review request, complete profit and loss statements, and review with Prosecuting attorney office and agency director for final approval. Prepare, review and record new mortgages and promissory notes/ releases and all related mortgage related documents. Prepare resolutions and summary, submit into the CRMS and present to BOC during general session. Maintain, review, and recommend changes to the loan portfolio and or written procedures for release/subordination. Supply information for annual budget presentations. Respond to questions and provide information, guidance and technical expertise as needed. Ensure department compliance with local, state, and federal rules, regulations and guidelines.
 
Support agency director during annual Tax Incentive Review Council (TIRC) meeting; retrieve and compile property information, complete meeting packets, deliver meeting packets, liaison between agency and TIRC board members. Support agency director in annual Ohio Department of Development incentive reporting. Maintain staff personnel records for the agency director; both bargaining and non-bargaining employees. Compile resumes for candidate interviews, set interviews, prepare interview questions, complete new hire packet and submit to HR.

Associate's degree in accounting, business administration or related field with three (3) years of accounting or related experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
No special license or certification is required.
