Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Social Program Specialist at Franklin County Children Services. The position is committed to practicing cultural competence by: working respectfully and effectively with people of all cultures, classes, races, genders, ethnic backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, mental and physical abilities, ages, and appearances in a manner that recognizes, affirms, and values the worth of individuals, families and communities and protects and preserves the dignity of each.
The employee will help the agency achieve CFSR standards and help ensure service delivery that focuses on Safety, Permanency & Wellbeing for the families served by the agency. The employee will adhere to the agency’s Guiding Principles by serving as a child welfare professional, valuing every child, honoring families, and valuing partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral science, and
· 2 years of experience in social services, or
· Master’s degree in social or behavioral Science, and
· 18 months experience in delivering social services.
· Knowledge of OCWTP Training
· Experience in training
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in social work, public administration, or related field
· Knowledge of the OCWTP Training Program
· 2 years of training experience in developing curriculum, assessment of training, and presentation
Key Responsibilities
25% Assists Director in leading, developing, maintaining, and evaluating training program and meeting RTC Contract Deliverables. Works collaboratively with OCCAS, ODJFS, PCSAO, including managed care partners.
20% Supervises staff managing classes and coaching for county staff and/or caregivers by performing needs assessments; reviews assessment data to determine quarterly training plans; assesses agency barriers to implementation of training and determines ongoing training needs to help eliminate barriers. Learning needs assessments coordination with OCCAS.
15% Supervises staff in locating appropriate trainers and coaches to contract with and provide training by reviewing outlines, agendas, and handouts in each skill area; processes payment data for each training/trainer; reviews monthly payment fiscal data to ensure accurate payment to each trainer. Coordinates approval new curricula. Monthly coordination for monthly reconciliation.
10% Work closely with Corresponding Program Coaches and collaborates to delivery high quality training and coaching in the counties for both foster and staff. Works closely with Foster Care and Staff program areas to ensure quality training and coaching. OHSTS Training Coordinator and OCWTP to collaborate in all areas.
10% Oversight of Coordinator Weekly Meetings; schedules quarterly training meetings; disseminates information pertinent to the program area; plans for annual conferences by assessing needs, locating trainers, training sites selection and fiscal data. Gather documentation for Annual Reports including CAPS, ROM Report, Census to meet deliverables.
5% Other duties as required to meet agency mission.
5% Performs other related duties as assigned.
*Other related duties may include handling cases from Intake, if needed and if determined by HR to be qualified to do so.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Directly supervises staff and functions of the Training Coordinators Automobile insurance coverage compliant with Franklin County Children Services policy.
