JOB OVERVIEW:
The Franklin County Board of County Commissioners are seeking to hire someone who is currently a licensed Building Inspector or someone that meets the minimum qualifications listed below to become licensed as a Building Inspector within 1 year of employment.
POISTION DUTIES:
- 75% Schedule routine building inspections throughout the county for compliance with the current Building, Plumbing and Electrical Code as well as Coastal Building Code, and Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. Monitor County for non-permitting development, issue stop work orders, notice of violations and report same to the immediate supervisor.
- 25% Provide public information on codes and standards for building within Franklin County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate five (5) years of combined experience as an architect, engineer, plans examiner, building code inspector, registered or certified contractor, or construction superintendent, with at least 5 years of experience or demonstrate a combination of post-secondary education in the field of construction or related field
POSTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and implement inspections for foundations, rough-in, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and final inspections for all construction as well as standards for mobile homes and manufactured homes within Franklin County.
- Provide builders, contractors and owners with appropriate construction information when requested.
- Issue Certificate of Occupancies for completed buildings and copy Property Appraiser’s Office with pertinent information
