Job Title: Transportation Engineer
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivatedTransportation Engineer to join our team. The Transportation Engineer will playa pivotal role in designing, planning, and implementing transportation systemsand infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background incivil engineering principles, transportation planning, and traffic analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation Planning: Conduct comprehensivetransportation studies to assess current transportation systems, identify areasfor improvement, and develop long-term transportation plans.
- Traffic Engineering: Analyze traffic patterns, conducttraffic impact assessments, and develop strategies to optimize traffic flow,and enhance safety through the implementation of traffic control measures,signal timings, and roadway designs.
- Infrastructure Design: Design and develop transportationinfrastructure projects, including roadways, intersections, highways, transitsystems, and pedestrian facilities, utilizing engineering software and adheringto industry standards and regulations.
- Data Analysis: Utilize transportation modeling software, GIStools, and traffic simulation techniques to analyze data, forecast futuretransportation demands, and evaluate the effectiveness of proposedtransportation solutions.
- Project Management: Manage transportation projects fromconception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation,and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors toensure project objectives are met within established timelines and budgetconstraints.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal,state, and local DOT regulations, codes, and standards governing transportationengineering projects, including environmental regulations, zoning ordinances,and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, TransportationEngineering, or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility forlicensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportationengineering, traffic engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in transportation planning software (AutoCAD,MicroStation, and GIS tools).
- Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, trafficmodeling, and simulation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to conveytechnical information effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously,prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with project management methodologies andpractices.
- Knowledge of transportation policies, regulations, andfunding mechanisms.
