Job Summary:

Coordinate and direct activities and projects related tomaintenance, engineering, and automation.

General Tasks:

  • Overseeing a team of multi-disciplined engineers in thecompletion of engineering projects.
  • Oversee the repairs, installations and upkeep of variousbuildings, offices, and other facilities.
  • Oversee the maintenance operation and processes related.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of electrical equipment andmechanical systems through timely inspection and repair.
  • Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept inclean and hygienic condition.
  • Implement workplace safety policies and standards.
  • Designing maintenance procedures, tracking budgets andexpenses, and performing inspections on different facilities to find problemsand coordinate repairs.
  • Hiring and training qualified staff, setting project budgetsand timelines for completion and helping their staff run tests or troubleshootissues.
  • Making determinations for equipment, staff, and trainingneeds.
  • Proposing project and program budgets.
  • Hiring and supervising staff.
  • Ensuring the validity of methods used by staff.
  • Coordinating work with other directors/managers and staff.
  • Review project budgets and select staffing and equipment asneeded.
  • Direct management of project team and corporate functions(including engineering, procurement, legal, services, vendors, subcontractors,and owner's engineer).
  • Communicate project status to senior management andstakeholders with regular project updates, identify issues that could impactproject performance, and lead the corrective action effort to put solutions andresolutions into place.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, looking forproductivity gains through project closeout meetings and document lessonslearned for future projects.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialtyrequired.
  • 15 years of experience as a project engineer/projectmanager and related positions.
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA), technologymanagement (MSTM) or engineering management (MsEm or MEM) preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing industry processes andautomation technology.
  • Hands on experience with Global Food Safety Initiative(FGS); Food Safety, environment, and audits
  • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully andsolving complex problems.
  • Communication skills for overseeing staff and working withother management personnel.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity in drafting and understanding blueprints andschematics.
  • Effectively communicate instructions while leading the teamto meet their goals.
  • Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and theability to pay attention to details, as a minor error can result in majorproblems.
  • Math skills, including calculus and other advancedmathematics for developing new processes and products.
  • Organizational skills for tracking various budgets,employees, and schedules simultaneously.
  • Comply with the company safety procedures.
  • Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork,self-discipline, and professional competence.
  • Quality - Ensure standards are maintained in a processdriven environment.
  • Comply with GMP normative and pest control procedure.
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends,and holidays to meet project commitments.
  • Support new hire training.
  • Participate in HR and plant activities as required.
  • Use a professional-level language when using the 2-wayradio, always following the Basic Radio Etiquette Rules (Clarity, Simplicity,Brevity, Security).
  • Participate in internal and external training programsrelated to evolving technologies and industry advancements.
  • Reports to Plant General Manager
