The Superintendent is responsible for providing operationalleadership of the facility to ensure efficient commercial execution.This person must work and communicateeffectively with the Area Superintendent to maintain the facility in a constantstate of preparedness to meet schedules and take advantage of opportunitiesthat arise.This includes performing acombination of tasks involved with storing and handling of grain products andinventory control; including loading/unloading grain, determining grainquality, troubleshooting mechanical defects, and operating heavy equipment as aworking Supervisor.Use of companysoftware for monitoring of operational cost control, space allocation,preventative maintenance, talent management/including production planning,energy conservation, and safety.

Manage and ensure effective inventory control within companyrequirements

• Coaches and provides continuous feedback to employees toimprove process efficiencies. To include tracking and measuring progress ofindividual and team performance and attendance.
• Provides additional training and mentoring of team membersto ensure satisfactory performance and high engagement.
• Lead workers onsite, contractors, temporary employees andservice providers.
• Ensure all operational staff is properly trained and ensurethey comprehend all safety and operational procedures.
• Works closely with the Area Superintendent to establish anddocument procedures to improve day-to-day performance and process efficienciesto improve the quality and quantity of stored grain.
• Maximize mix and blend opportunities by using house stockswith effective space allocation.
• Schedule and lead all preventative maintenance functionswhile maintaining a safe and reliable facility.
• Provide leadership and ensure compliance with all requiredsafety, regulatory, environmental, and company programs while applyingspecifics to your facility.
• Responsible for maintaining, documenting, and ensuringaccuracy of reporting processes.
• Executes safety initiatives and follows all safety policiesand procedures maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept facility. Supervisesgeneral housekeeping activities inside and outside the facility.
• May assist in interviewing, hiring, training, appraisingperformances, rewarding, and disciplining employees.
• Engage and maintain at or below the operational cost controlplan
• Assist Area Superintendent in development and execution offacility improvements and capital projects
• Ensure security of assets to minimize or eliminate exposureto theft, property damage, vandalism, and trespassing.
• Implementation of an energy conservation program and enhancesustainability while reducing energy costs and/or consumption of energy.

SUPERINTENDENT QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a relatedfield (preferred).
• Five (5) years previous experience in grain handling,storage, or a related industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and environmentalcompliance.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Proficiency in using computer software for data managementand reporting.
