Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and experiencedGeotechnical Engineer to join our team. The Geotechnical Engineer will beresponsible for conducting geotechnical investigations, analyzing soilproperties, and providing engineering recommendations to support the design andconstruction of various building and civil engineering projects. The idealcandidate will have a strong foundation in geotechnical principles, excellentanalytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinaryenvironment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Investigation and Characterization: Conductgeotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling, field testing, andgeophysical surveys, to assess subsurface conditions and identify geotechnicalhazards and constraints.
- Geotechnical Analysis: Perform geotechnical analysis andinterpretation of field and laboratory data to assess slope stability, bearingcapacity, settlement, lateral earth pressures, and groundwater conditions usingindustry-standard software and methods.
- Foundation Design: Provide geotechnical recommendations forfoundation design, including shallow and deep foundations, ground improvementtechniques, and retaining structures, to ensure structural stability andperformance in various soil and rock conditions.
- Earthwork and Excavation Support: Design earthwork andexcavation support systems, such as retaining walls, shoring, and slopestabilization measures, to mitigate geotechnical risks and ensure safe andefficient construction practices.
- Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensivegeotechnical reports, engineering calculations, and design documentssummarizing site investigations, analyses, findings, and recommendations forinternal review and client submission.
- Client Interaction and Collaboration: Collaborate withproject stakeholders, including clients, architects, structural engineers, andregulatory agencies, to address geotechnical concerns, provide technicalguidance, and facilitate effective project communication and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, GeotechnicalEngineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility forlicensure.
- Minimum of 8-20 years of experience in geotechnicalengineering, site investigation, and foundation design.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnicalengineering principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with theability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously,prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
