Starting $18-$20- Shift Differentials - 

St. Joseph Village, a part of Franciscan Ministries, is a faith based senior living community located in the Northwest side of Chicago. Our community provides a full continuum of care and services in a warm and friendly environment including: assisted living, memory support, rehabilitation and skilled nursing.

We currently seek a dedicated and passionate Resident Care Assistant (RCA) to serve as the Direct Care Partner at St. Joseph Village of Chicago. Under the direct supervision of the Nurse, the RCA will provide assistance with the activities of daily living, a safe environment, physical comfort and emotional and social support to the residents in both Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing units.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living
  • Answering call lights/pagers
  • Assist residents with leisure time programming which may include engaging residents in 1:1 interactions, leading small group activities and escorting residents
  • Charting and recording or resident’s temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
  • Assist with dining: This may include assuring resident's attendance to meals, taking orders and serving resident meals, feeding, set up and break down of dining room, washing dishes and general upkeep of the pantry.
  • Assist with general upkeep of the area including but not limited to emptying resident and common area trash containers, cleaning surfaces, dusting ensuring area is neat, clean and presents a positive image for residents and guests
  • Reporting any physical and or behavioral changes in residents

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays 
  • Energetic, professional with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Team player
  • Compassionate understanding of eldercare
