Job Summary/Purpose: Perform district wide facilities project maintenance work and other work as needed and/or determined by the Maintenance Manager and/or Sweep Crew Foreman. Perform district wide building maintenance project work as part of a team or alone to keep facilities in a safe and healthy condition.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School education or an acceptable amount of specialized training and experience, which may be substituted in lieu of a formal education;
Knowledge/Skills: General/specific knowledge about building maintenance trade activities, preventative programs, codes, practices, procedures, etc; working knowledge of the common materials, tools, terminology, accident prevention and precautions of the trade. Skilled in comprehending and applying written labels, instructions, and directions as they pertain to work performance, safety, and record keeping aspects of the job. Able to work with a wide assortment of people; work cooperatively with fellow workers, the sweep crew foreman, maintenance manager, and others with whom he/she comes into contact; follow oral or written instructions and learn from direct training and practical experience; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, volume, and to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry in his/her work; able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where there is no or limited standardization. Must possess a valid driver’s license and class for the type of vehicle to be driven. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record and valid driver’s license as a condition of placement into the position; and for continued employment. See Policy/Regulation #4121 GE.
Experience: Specialized training in vocational technical classes, workshops, actual experience with a contractor, self-employed in a trade or related work area; possess practical or actual experience with an assortment of the tools, machines, and equipment used in this work.
Hours: 6:30 am-3:00 pm (increased hourly rates based upon relevant experience)
