You may have also acquired the following skills:

• Prefer AS Degree plus a minimum of 2 years of experience with college level Chemistry courses for Chem Lab positions.
• Perform physical/mechanical, chemical and/or radiographic analysis on materials, products, components, etc., using various laboratory equipment and instruments and performs quality checks and data summaries.
• Specifically, performs work using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) and Backscatter Electron (BSE) Spectroscopy capabilities.
• Prepare and analyze samples utilizing established laboratory practices and documented procedures for SEM/EDS analysis, such as, mounting and polishing samples for examination as well as other sample preparations including acid digestion and dilution preparations.
• Receives samples and inputs information and test requests into system database.
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment. Troubleshoot complex test machines and equipment. Keep lab equipment, supplies and work areas clean and organized.

As a Scanning Electron Microscope Operator in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:

• You will be working in a team environment performing analytical chemistry assignments and sample production tasks using state-of art lab equipment serving the nuclear plant market.
• Perform routine laboratory tasks and may perform complex tasks under the direction of a chemist and record/report results.
• Follows standard operating procedures and aids to ensure quality results are produced safely.
• May be required to work with and around radioactive and/or corrosive chemicals and must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
• Framatome supports a safety conscious work environment, being fit-for-duty, and a nuclear safety culture by aggressively promoting the identification and correction of safety issues and fostering a conservative decision-making environment that drives nuclear and industrial safety application process equipment, practices, procedures, and concepts.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $24.00 - $30.77 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
