Role Overview The Azure Lead Architect is instrumental in leveraging Azure's core technologies to meet complex business needs. This role demands a deep understanding of Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Lake Analytics, Azure Cosmos, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure HDInsight, Azure Databricks, and SQL Data Warehouse (Synapse). As a lead, you will drive large-scale data management initiatives through all phases—Plan, Design, Build, and Deploy—using various delivery methodologies, including Agile. Responsibilities Translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs. Architect robust Azure solutions to meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Design, develop, and deliver data integration and provisioning interfaces using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks. Evaluate current technologies and recommend a strategic vision for short-term and long-term goals. Lead the development of data models on platforms like Azure Cosmos, SQL DW/Synapse, and Azure SQL. Advocate for and implement ML Engineering and MLOps at scale on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Optimize platform costs by selecting the appropriate services and architecting cost-effective solutions. Implement Azure DevOps practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes. Ensure critical systems are monitored with effective logging for alerts. Required Qualifications 6-10 years of software development experience. Experience translating complex analytical requirements into technical designs including data models, ETLs, and dashboards/reports. Strong background in deploying dashboards and analytics solutions on both relational and non-relational databases. Experience with Dbt Core or Dbt Cloud, and Data Vault 2.0 implementations using the automate_dv package. Expertise in various computing paradigms in databases such as In-Memory, Distributed, and Massively Parallel Processing. Proficient in continuous integration, static code analysis, and test-driven development. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good to Have Familiarity with APIs and experience working on them. Successful delivery of change management initiatives to drive data platform adoption across the enterprise.
