Fox Valley Tree Care and Landscape LLC is Hiring a Landscape Technician Near Neenah, WI

Fox Valley Tree Care and Landscape is currently hiring for the position of “Landscape Technician”

We are looking for individuals who strive to meet a high level of quality, with a willingness to further their education throughout the green industry. Long-term career minded individuals are desired, and we will accommodate to the growth and education of the applicants.

Landscape Technician perform landscape and tree care duties related to maintaining green spaces and urban forests.
The starting pay for this position is $17.00 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications. Further increases to the top of the range, $25.00 bonuses, will be based on performance. 

This is a dual role position with Arborist Technician, Landscape Maintenance and/or Pesticide Applicator.

Essential Functions

The following are normal for the position but shall not be construed as exclusive or inclusive. Other related duties may be required and assigned.

  • Trim, prune, spray, cultivate, plant, transplant, water, fertilize, mulch and remove trees, shrubs, brush, and wood.
  • Diagnose and treat trees and shrubs for insects and disease problems. 
  • Read and follow landscape design and installation plans related to projects under construction.
  • Install and maintain shrub, perennial, and annual flower beds
  • Maintain turf areas associated with greenspaces including mowing, weed control, and other duties.
  • Maintain and update administrative paperwork in the field through a tablet or other device.
  • Operate various pieces of motorized equipment, trucks and tools related to duties.
  • Perform emergency tree work as needed.
  • Perform snow and ice control on driveways and sidewalks manually and with power equipment for winter projects.
  • Effectively communicate policy and procedures when asked by residents or staff. 

Minimum Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's Degree in urban forestry, horticulture, landscape technician, arboriculture or a closely related field strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 80 pounds

 
Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to pass and maintain WDATCP pesticide category 3.0 Ornamental and Turf certification.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of safe tree trimming procedures, methods and techniques; knowledge of the composition and use of common insecticides, fungicides and fertilizers.
  • Knowledge of the hazards of tree work and necessary safety precautions.
  • Skill in the use of hooks, saws, ropes, ladders, hand tools and power equipment commonly used in landscaping, trimming, and treatment operations.
