Sprinkler Heavy Repair Level I Service Technician

Full Time, Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (6am or 7am start time)

On-call rotation following conclusion of initial training period.

The Sprinkler Heavy Repair Level I Service Technician will inspect buildings and equipment to detect fire hazards as well as deficient equipment, and enforce national, state and local regulations. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who is interested in pursuing a career path in the Fire & Life Safety Industry with a focus on Fire Sprinkler systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Service sprinkler, fire pump, & engineered systems at various customer locations
• Inspect buildings to locate hazardous conditions and fire code violations such as accumulations of combustible material, and inadequate, improper or non-functional equipment.
• Identify corrective actions necessary to bring properties into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standard, and explain these measures to properly owners or their representatives.
• Attend training classes to maintain current knowledge of fire prevention, safety and manufacturers procedures.
• Conduct fire code compliance follow-ups to ensure that corrective actions have been taken in cases where violations were found.
• Write detained report of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed and corrective recommendations offered.
• Inspection and test fire protection to verify that such systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards.
• Conduct inspections and acceptance testing of newly installed fire protection systems.
• Review of prescheduled route to prepare for the next day start time, material required and any other material or information required daily.
• Occasional office visit to drop-off or pick-up parts, products or materials to complete pre-scheduled route.
• Visit customer’s site to inspect, repair, maintain, install, or sell products or systems.
• Converse with clientele regarding status of existing products or system and promote and sell repairs, additional services, systems or any other product or system the company provides.
• Maintain all proper required licensing to perform job duties.
• Visit customer sites to inspect, repair, maintain or install products or systems.
• Knowledge of proper usage of commonly used tools. Example given: hammer, screw driver, drill, or any other tool required to perform job.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully the following abilities are required:

• Sit or stand for several hours at a time.
• Move about with ease. Example given: walking, standing, etc.
• Service equipment from multiple locations. : kneeling, bending, squatting, balancing, and placing body in adverse positions.
• Lift or move approximately fifty pounds per day, but up to 150 pounds.
• Reliable sight, hearing, verbal communication, and touch.
• Clean driving record.
