Fox Underground is Hiring a Pipe Layer Near Fargo, ND

Job Summary: As a Pipe Layer, you will be laying a variety of pipe material types for water and sewer pipe projects, while being the pace setter for the crew. Our ideal candidate is a team player committed to quality, safety, and production. You must possess the skills, talents, and knowledge, to manage and complete underground utility projects.

*Immediate Hiring Need*

Primary Duties:

· Measuring and cutting pipe sections.

· Communicate with loader and backhoe operators.

· Lay and join pipe for drains, sewer, and water lines – rigging pipe, setting pipe and affixing pipe to joints.

· Quantity tracking.

· Consistently monitor and maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures and regulations

· Other duties as required.

Job Skills and Experience Required:

· Experience using chop saws and other misc. tools.

· Must be able to pre-fabricate pipe using ductile iron fittings, HDPE, slip joints, concrete pipe, and steel pipe.

· Ability to read and comprehend grade stakes. Must be able to calculate grades.

· Experience setting up and utilizing a pipe laser.

· Experience assisting with the testing of water, sewer, and storm sewer.

· Consistently monitor and maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings so that work can be performed to specifications.

· Knowledge reading locate markings and general understanding of underground and/or overhead utilities.

· Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings (plans/blueprints).

· Knowledgeable in OSHA standards for excavations.

· Effective communication skills (both listening and verbal).

· Understand slopes, cuts, and different soil types.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize.

· Time Management and organizational skills.

· Able to listen, follow directions, and have a willingness to continue to enhance skills

· Effective communications with jobsite supervisor and co-workers

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others. The employee must have dexterity of hands to perform the tasks required of this position and sight in order to be aware of hazards and dangers found in the nature of work. The employee will regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to maneuver in crawl spaces and utility tunnels and climb ladders of varying heights. Ability to lift moderate to heavy objects up to 100 lbs or more.

Lifting Requirements:

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.

Salary: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
