Position Summary

The Dietary Aide performs a number of kitchen activities including dish washing, general cleaning duties, daily meal service, assisting other dietary positions with meal preparation and storing food and non-food supplies.

Essential Job Duties

1. SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.
2. Wash dishes, utensils, and pots and operates dish washing equipment.
3. Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.
4. Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
5. Taking and delivering food and beverage orders.
6. Ensuring resident satisfaction.
7. Ensuring that quality standards and service are being delivered.
8. Deliver meals to residents unable to dine in the dining room.
9. Maintain assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition.
10. Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
11. Follow safety regulations: report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
12. May assist with basic kitchen preparations and/or serving.
13. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors promoting a homelike environment.
14. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor for the benefit of the residents.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
2. Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test
3. Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Employment Clearance Registry and Adult Maltreatment Registry

Physical Demands:

This position may require constant standing/walking and repetitive motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional carrying. Weights may vary up to 50 pounds and the frequency of treatments may vary.
