Provides instruction for Nurse Assistant Training (NAT), and Basic Life Support (BLS)/First Aide certification.

We are looking to hire instructors for our NAT Program.

Responsibilities in the Classroom

1. Provides classroom instruction (Curriculum Provided)

2. Demonstrates and teach skills in our labs on Campus

3. Counsels students on deficiencies in academic performance and behavior.

4. Completes documentation within the required time.

Clinical

1. Orientates, assigns, supervises, and evaluates NAT student performance at clinical training sites.

2. Conducts Pre and Post conferences daily with students at clinical training sites.

3. Evaluates ability of NAT students to correlate theoretical knowledge with clinical experience and documents student performance.

Requirements

The instructor will provide a quality program that meets state regulations and compliance standards and must remain current on state regulations and training standards. Ability to work with a diverse population, including students with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.

· Current license as a nurse in California

· Two years of nursing experience (RN, LVN)

· One-year verifiable experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate facility, home care, hospice care, or other long term care setting.

· Completion of a course in teaching adults (DSD certificate), or 1-year verifiable experience supervising nurse aides.

· Knowledge of State and Federal requirements of the programs.

· Certified by the American Heart Association to teach BLS and First Aide. (required of all students for clinical)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week

• Weekends as needed
