The SNG Technician/Photographer operates live video transmission equipment in the field and at the television station to execute live reports during newscasts. In addition, the SNG Technician shoots video and audio recordings of news events, edits material to assemble news stories, and shoots live remote reports for newscasts.

* Establishes video transmissions from live remote locations to the station by operating equipment either at remote locations or at the station

* Sets up and connects appropriate cables to establish clear video and audio signals for broadcast

* Operates audio, video and transmission equipment for live remote broadcasts

* Operates equipment at the station to receive video signals; communicates with field crews to establish those signals, and monitors the quality of those signals once established

* Communicates effectively with news managers and producers about the status of video transmissions

* Maintains in good operating condition all equipment and tools assigned to him/her

* Assists with routine vehicle and equipment maintenance

* Shoots video and audio recordings in the field, newsroom and studio

* Collects information and obtains sound at the scene of news events

* Edits news stories on deadline in the field and in the newsroom

* Assists others with news gathering operations when needed

**Requirements:**

* Working knowledge of live remote video transmission equipment

* Demonstrated skill or ability to develop skill in video photography and editing on deadline

* Exemplary driving record

* Communicate clearly and deal effectively/politely with co-workers and the public

* Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record

* Bachelors degree from a four year college or university preferred

* Two years of experience as an SNG/ENG Technician and/or photojournalist in the news department of a commercial television station
