Renovations and Construction Technician

Job Description:

We are early birds at Taconic, so no late or evening shifts, although there may be a rare Saturday cleaning request.

We are currently looking for skilled craftsmen to fill a Renovations and Construction Technician role. This role will perform construction and renovation work in multi-family buildings as well as units, ensuring each unit is ready for new tenants. This position will work independently as well as working alongside one other tech on more difficult projects. We are looking for individuals with strong organizational skills, management ability, customer service acumen, as well as the ability to manage multiple jobs at once and juggle competing priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing general renovation and construction work on multifamily properties to include but not limited to: basic electric, basic plumbing, finish drywall, painting, carpentry, tile work, setting baseboards, casing and crown molding repairs or replacements.
• Completing work in a timely manner, making sure each unit is move-in ready.
• Demolition work when needed
• Driving to and from job assignments.
• Keeping a clean appearance and able to be punctual and polite in all situations.
• Inform management of any repairs needed at the properties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements and Work Experience:

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and be authorized to work in the US for any employer.
• Must have valid drivers license with reliable transportation and working cell phone.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Must have at least 3 years experience in renovations/general trades work. Experience on multi-family buildings is a preference.
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
• A willingness to show up every day with a mindset to help us all improve upon the previous day.
• Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Will be required to walk, stand, sit, crawl, crouch, climb stairs for extended periods of time.
• Ability to carry backpack while working.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Will be required to work in confined spaces and on ladders at times.
• Ability to work with chemicals used for cleaning.
• Ability to operate power tools and hand tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly pay at a range within $28.00-$30.00 per hour
