Common Area Cleaning Technician

Job Description:

We are early birds at Taconic, so no late or evening shifts, although there may be a rare Saturday cleaning request.

We are currently looking for a Common Area Cleaning Technician to work in common or shared areas at multifamily properties providing general cleaning surfaces. This position will work within a team at most times, but must be able to work independently to complete their daily tasks. We are looking for individuals with strong organizational skills, management ability, customer service acumen, as well as the ability to manage multiple jobs at once and juggle competing priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Main duties will be cleaning and maintaining common or shared areas at multifamily properties. This includes but is not limited to cleaning and disinfecting various surfaces, cleaning windows and window sills, cleaning and sanitizing washers and dryers, emptying trash cans, vacuuming, sweeping and cleaning and infecting various surfaces in common or shared spaces
• Each day starts at 6:30 AM and will include an 8-hour shift. Ending times are dependent upon the daily workload and our ability to complete our tasks.
• Inform management of any repairs needed at the properties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements and Work Experience:

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and be authorized to work in the US for any employer.
• Must have valid drivers license with reliable transportation and working cell phone.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Must have professional cleaning experience.
• Punctuality, ability to be on time at 6:30 AM, each scheduled shift.
• Experience with and ability to use a variety of cleaning products and equipment.
• · Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Will be required to walk, stand, sit, crawl, crouch, climb stairs for extended periods of time.
• Ability to carry backpack while working.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Will be required to work in confined spaces and on ladders at times.
• Ability to work with chemicals used for cleaning.
• Ability to operate power tools and hand tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly pay starting at $23.00 per hour.
