Job Overview:

Four Seasons Environmental, Inc. (FSE) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to oversee safety and compliance initiatives at the Central Utility Plant located on the campus in Triangle Park, North Carolina. The Safety Officer will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety, implementing safety programs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to safeguard the well-being of employees and protect the environment.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe work environment and prevent accidents and injuries.

- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and assessments to identify hazards, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

- Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees on topics such as personal protective equipment, hazardous materials, emergency response, and safety protocols.

- Investigate near misses, incidents, and accidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards related to utility plant operations, hazardous materials handling, and environmental protection.

- Collaborate with management, operations, and maintenance teams to address safety concerns, implement safety recommendations, and monitor safety performance.

- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.

- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) certification preferred.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in an industrial or utility plant setting.

- Knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards relevant to utility plant operations and hazardous materials handling.

- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to conduct safety assessments, inspections, and incident investigations.

- Experience with safety training, program development, and compliance management.
