INTRODUCTION

This job description outlines the requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and duties for the position of Yard Crew of Bubany Lumber Supply.

Summary/ Objective

The yard crew position is responsible for ensuring the store and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and tidy. This role will assist in the cleaning, maintenance, organization and inventory of all company equipment and supplies. In addition, helping with the sales and preparation in our lumber department. 

 Essential Job Functions

1. Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer and by maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service. 
2. Make sure all work yard operations and ensure compliance to safety policies
3. Ensure proper handling of all materials and equipment and store it appropriately 
4. Monitor loading of materials and equipment to ensure safe transfer to customers, clients, and receiving department.
5. Fill orders accurately and timely with the appropriate product as indicated by the customer
6. Keep the yard grounds clean and orderly 
7. Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures. 
8. Performs any other duties assigned by management. 
9. The ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. 

Duties and responsibilities

• When needed assist with loading or unloading of equipment 
• Operates forklift to move materials and equipment to designated areas
• Conduct daily forklift check before, during, and after use
• Knowledgeable in all lumber yard polices and procedures
• Answer any customer questions regarding the company’s products
• Assist in the training of customers when needed on equipment 
• Maintains physical building according to company standards. Communicates with Store Manager on areas of needed maintenance. 
• Assist in annual performance evaluations review with Store Manager.
• Protects fellow employees and customers by providing a safe and clean yard environment.
• Provides necessary reports on a weekly, or other timely basis to management.
• To contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. 

Position type/ Expected hours of work

This is a full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday and hours vary as schedule demands, 40 hours per week. Weekend work may be required as schedule demands.

Work Environment

This job working environment varies from outside conditions, heat and cold, high noise levels in certain areas, as well as an office environment.

Required Education and Experience 

Required: High school or equivalent 

Preferred: A minimum of 1 years related experience.
