Job Duties:

Foreclosure

• Assist with foreclosure file preparation and assist with steps to start foreclosure actions.
• Assist with delivery methods for foreclosure packages to assigned legal counsel.
• Assist with foreclosure file maintenance and management of retention documents in OnBase.
• Assist with tracking the foreclosure process, and updating files notes in the collection software.
• Responsible for ensuring accurate note history is maintained within the collection software system.
• Assist with foreclosure hearing file preparations and attend hearings as necessary.
• Assist with foreclosure sale date management and calendar reporting to Management as needed.
• Assist with reporting for Management on all Foreclosures actions pending as needed.
• Assist with “WRIT” eviction paperwork preparation for our attorneys on behalf of the credit union.

Judgement

• Prepare judgment filings documents for charged-off debts, fraudulent return checks, and negative shares and ensure accurate tracking in OnBase.
• Place appropriate flags on accounts to coincide with collection efforts. 
• Attend judgment hearings as necessary.
• Assist with file research for judgment satisfactions on paid out accounts.
• Assist with monitoring the charge-off processes to ensure accurate 1099-C reporting.
• Maintain positive working relationships with local collection attorneys as well as Magistrates within the credit unions core market.
• Assist with judgment execution research, and action filings for judgment files prior to expiration. 
• Assist with judgment execution filing with attorneys, as needed. 

General

• Assist with research and resolution for delinquent tax notices received on mortgaged properties held as collateral by the credit union.
• Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

The Loss Mitigation Specialist must be detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, and follow through on details with minimal supervision. Must have a good working knowledge of Word and Excel. Previous experience in collections or loss mitigation desired. Must be able to communicate effectively with variety of people including members, attorneys, appraisers, magistrates, judges, etc.

Candidate must be available Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
