Reporting to the Associate Director, Contracts and Vendor Management the Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for partnering across all functions to build direct relationships with key vendors, negotiate contracts, terms & conditions, and work with our vendors to build comprehensive selection and price strategies. The Vendor Management Specialist will work with a variety of vendors and must have the necessary leadership presence and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Learn and develop expertise in the service categories that support clinical research by managing vendor relationships and contracts
Support the advancement of Vendor Management including building new and optimized processes for vendor identification, vendor selection (sourcing), contract execution, performance management, and termination
Conduct review of third-party quotations, contracts, and amendments building expertise in RFP analysis and negotiations
Develop and apply a strategic understanding of vendor policies and procedures including sourcing and purchase contracts
Provide support to Vendor Managers in commercial negotiations for pricing and terms
Utilize governance, risk, and compliance software to manage vendor contract execution and performance management
Support new vendor due diligence partnering across the business to ensure risk assessment, audit, and vendor compliance processes are followed
Monitor third-party vendor performance leveraging company processes for evaluation and escalation
Qualifications and skills:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain or Management along with 1-3 years of experience in negotiations and vendor management
1 years of information security experience is preferred
Experience with all aspects of vendor oversight including but not limited to vendor selection, contract development, SLAs, performance management, continuous process improvement, writing policies and procedures.
Knowledge of procurement and vendor management processes, including RFPs and contracts.
Experience building relationships and working with cross functional business teams.
Knowledge of US and international regulatory standards and guidelines is preferred.
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of GxP regulations and guidelines
Must be able to perform multiple talks simultaneously in a dynamic environment to meet deadlines.
Experience with MS Office applications and DocuSign
Must have strong leadership, project management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
Must be able to communicate and direct vendor activities; ability to define/execute a project using project management techniques.
Must have excellent team-building skills and demonstrated collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Must have experience in problem-solving techniques, be a team player and have the ability to learn new software/tools.
Pay Range:$90,000 - $105,000
