The Senior Associate, Data Engineer (FCL) will support actuarial technology initiatives and be responsible for data and applications for use across our Actuarial teams. The primary role is to build and deploy a well-governed data solutions architecture to ensure data and application flows are automated and offer end-to-end processing using a cloud-first enterprise technology stack. Reporting to the VP, IT Data Management, this role is based in our Brentwood, TN office on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do:

• Leverage ETL/ELT tools such as DBT and Glue to maintain a conformed finance layer (CFL) that ingests raw insurance data into standardized data structures with both data mapping and data quality considerations.

• Oversee and automate end to end data flows for new business to our SAP finance systems.

• Implement strategic and tactical initiatives related to data infrastructure, data modeling, analytics/reporting, Python development, cloud computing (AWS and Azure), and applications development.

• Operate in an agile development environment while applying DevOps principles.

• Understand current state data pipelines/processes and seek/propose future state optimization.

• Provide long term technology solutions to financial modeling using modern data engineering, data visualizations, data science, and machine learning.

• Evaluate SaaS solutions from a technology lens in partnership with our business teams.

What You Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field

• Minimum experience of three years in programming (Python, Julia and/or R) and proficient in SQL

• Experience with dashboarding systems (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

• Domain knowledge of insurance or reinsurance (preferred)

• Experience in building cloud-based data solutions in AWS

• At least one year experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform

• Robust knowledge of data lakes, data governance and modern data quality techniques

• Prior knowledge and experience in the fintech, investment banking or insurance industry

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
