Summary:

• Didactic course preparation, presentation, development, course management, grading and evaluation
• Participate and support clinic assignments
• Stay current with learning resources, textbooks, dental hygiene clinical equipment/supplies, technology and software required by the dental hygiene program
• Student mentoring, counseling and advisement for success and retention
• Support students with attendance at orientations, program activities, and professional conventions
• Participate in faculty orientation and faculty development programs
• Attend and support faculty/department meetings
• Promote the Dental Assisting Program to the community through attendance at local and national professional conventions.
• Act as ambassador and advocate for the Dental Assisting program and the dental assisting profession in the college and community
• Stay current in the Dental Assisting profession through professional and occupational development
• Compliance with all program and school policies
• Regular and reliable attendance

Qualifications:

• Must be a Dental Assistant who possesses a minimum of an Associate degree
• Or a Dentist who has a background in education
• Professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill the program goals
• Documented background in the assigned subject

Professional:

• Must have a current DANB Certification
• Current CPR certification/health care provider preferred
• Excellent oral and written communications
• 3 years of full time clinical experience
• Teaching experience preferred
• Documented of background in educational methodology preferred

Classification: Part Time

Work Hours: Hours may include evening/weekend hours

• Associate (Required)

Experience:

• Teaching: 2 years (Preferred)
• Dental assisting: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• DANB CDA (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)
