Fortify Property Management is a full-service property management company experienced in managing residential properties, apartment complexes, commercial properties, and multifamily properties across the Los Angeles geographical area.

We are currently looking to hire a Temporary Property Accountant to join our team for a one to two month period. The Temporary Property Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards within the property management sector. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Full-cycle accounting (A/R, A/P, JEs, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, Payroll posting, and Monthly Reporting) for the properties assigned
• Accounts Payable, accounts receivable, and credit card transactions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as resident rental agreements, addendums to rental agreements, budget reports, and financial statements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform ad-hoc reporting, as assigned

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a property management accountant
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Experience in property management software is a plus (Buildium, AppFolio)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP)
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
• Experience putting together financial packages for property owners

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• GAAP: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CPA (Preferred)
