Hours:

Full-Time | 1st Shift:

  • Monday- Thursday (6:00 AM- 4:00 PM)

Mandatory overtime is dependent on department needs.

Forté Products offers a range of plastic manufacturing processes – rotational molding, vacuum forming and injection. We also offer substantial expertise in fiberglass manufacturing. We serve a wide range of industries such as, Commercial Airlines, Agriculture, Marine, Department of Defense, Lawn and Garden, Waste Services, Petroleum/C-Store and RV. We are family oriented, flexible, energetic, and driven. The Machine Operators will work out of the Cherryvale, KS facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Lead by continuous example and continually act as a team player
  • Identify inspection requirements of material and components received, administer necessary inspections, and identify status of product
  • Follow the required Work Instructions
  • Operate pneumatic power tools such as: buffer, press, sander, and drill
  • Monitor and follow Work Order specifications and steps in assembly
  • Communicate with coworkers for any issues regarding quality

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Ability to operate pneumatic tools and press
  • Ability to inspect parts and differentiate between pigments
  • Ability to maintain excellent safety and attendance records
  • Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisor, and plant supervisor in a courteous manner
  • Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including overtime
  • Ability to read and understand Work Order Forms
  • Ability to move throughout the department, move and position parts onto the shop table or press.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school education, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of all product/part acceptance criteria, including Forte’ Products acceptance criteria
  • Working knowledge of quality expectations
  • Knowledge of 5S requirements

ENVIRONMENT

  • Employee will perform duties indoors throughout the non-climate-controlled general production area.
  • Employee must continuously remain in a stationary position and be readily able to move throughout the production area.
  • Employee will occasionally move short distances in the facility during the course of the scheduled shift.
  • Employee will frequently move objects from one level to another, up to 50 lbs.
  • Employee will frequently move objects, requiring up to 30 lbs. of force.
  • Employee will frequently move or transport objects, up to 20 lbs., at or above shoulder level.
  • Employee will frequently move and place objects in varying sizes.
  • Employee will frequently retrieve or move objects to or away from body.
  • Employee will occasionally position oneself to retrieve objects from a lower level.
