Fort Healthcare is Hiring a Pharmacy Technician Near Fort Atkinson, WI

Fort HealthCare is a patient-centered hospital and healthcare system serving individuals, businesses and families in Jefferson, Dane, and Walworth Counties and we are seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join our Pharmacy Team.

Shift:
64 hours per bi-weekly pay period
Part time
Day/Pm shift
Monday-Friday, 6:30am-6pm, occasional weekends

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for performing duties related to the maintenance of drug inventory, the compounding & distribution of medications, and other technical functions required in the operation of a licensed pharmacy; all under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and only as allowed by law.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Maintenance of drug inventory.
  • Distribution of medications.
  • Compounding, preparation or packaging of medications.
  • Effectively triages pharmacy calls.
  • Assists the licensed pharmacist as allowed by law.
  • Ensures accurate revenue capture.
  • Performs clerical functions.
  • Keeps pharmacy neat, clean and well organized.
  • Efficient & effective use of medical informatics systems and pharmacy automation.
  • Contributes to the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the pharmacy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Completes department-specific orientation and annual competencies for this position.

Requirements for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associated Degree preferred.
  • Previous Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient with office computer systems & mathematics; Experience with pharmacy information systems/technology, electronic medical records & medical informatics preferred
  • BLS, WI Pharmacy Technician Registration (active or applied for upon hire); ACLS, PTCB Certification preferred.
