Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Automotive Shop Foreman who possesses strong leadership skills, exceptional diagnostic abilities, and proficiency in vehicle programming. As a pivotal member of our team, the Automotive Shop Foreman will oversee the daily operations of our service department, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision:
  • Lead and supervise a team of automotive technicians, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Allocate work assignments effectively, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to quality standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth among team members.
  • Diagnostic Expertise:
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex automotive issues.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, accurately diagnose problems, and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and manufacturer-specific diagnostic procedures.
  • Vehicle Programming:
  • Proficiently program vehicle systems, including but not limited to engine control modules (ECMs), transmission control modules (TCMs), and keyless entry systems.
  • Perform software updates, module reprogramming, and calibration adjustments as required to ensure optimal vehicle performance and functionality.
  • Stay abreast of software updates and technical bulletins issued by automotive manufacturers.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Enforce strict adherence to dealership policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to verify the accuracy and completeness of repairs and services.
  • Maintain meticulous records of diagnostic findings, repair actions, and parts usage for warranty and accountability purposes.
  • Customer Interaction:
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing clear explanations of diagnostic findings and repair recommendations.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly, striving to exceed their expectations and foster long-term relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic procedures and vehicle programming.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an automotive repair facility preferred.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment such as scan tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, braking, and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with vehicle programming software and manufacturer-specific diagnostic platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team and interact with customers.
  • ASE certification or equivalent credentials preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
