SMT MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN III (B Shift/NIGHTS)

SHIFT

Our Technicians work a Compressed Work Week (CWW). This means that each pay period you work three 12-hour shifts one week, and four 12-hour shifts the following week*. Per California law, you will be eligible for Overtime Pay (1.5X Hourly Rate) for all time worked over 8 hours in one shift (24.5 hours of OT per two week pay period).

Shifts available:
B Shift (front half nights) - 6pm - 6:15am Sunday -Tuesday, and every other Saturday ( 15% shift differential)
*These CWW schedules only apply to our California locations, and include breaks and meal periods.

The SMT Manufacturing Technician III performs functions associated with probe card manufacturing operations including manufacturing printed circuit board assemblies to specification based on production schedules. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to reading drawings and BOMs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The successful candidate must have strong problem solving skills and understanding of the fundamentals of electronics.
• Soldering small components on PCBs or substrates using a soldering iron
• Operate SMT machines according to standard operating procedures.
• Experience with automated optical inspection equipment desirable.
• Maintain documentation for set-up and daily operations.
• Document and maintain quality records for operation and inspection results.
• Perform material activities required to maintain accurate control of all material staged in the area.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of components in the SMT area.
• Perform set-up and cleanup according to documented procedures.
• Perform minor maintenance as required in an efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
• Follow general safety procedures.
• Communicate operation status to supervisor as required.
• Work with other team members to implement safety, quality and performance improvements.
• Able to work with limited supervision.
• Experience using microscopes is required.
• Experience with a manufacturing execution system (MES) such as Promis desirable.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• H.S. Diploma, GED or equivalent
• At least 2 – 4 years’ experience as a manufacturing technician
• SMT machine operation, electrical troubleshooting or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• Must have good computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Statistical Analysis software, MES)
• Strong math skills, including metric and standard measuring systems.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Familiarity with clean room and 6S procedures

The pay range for this role in Carlsbad, CA is between $23.25 and $34.85. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
