As the Senior Director of Program Management, you will play a pivotal strategic role in our company's growth plans by ensuring alignment from all departments and securing outcomes of commercial programs. This role creates a centralized Program Management Office for Form. Your role will be instrumental in architecting all aspects of the Program Management framework and tools, overseeing the execution of engineering and operational programs from inception to delivery. You will uphold high standards of quality and efficiency across diverse and competing programs. Importantly, you will lead our critical program trials and testing efforts to validate new product and process innovations. Throughout your work, you will always keep the interests of our broad shareholder base at the forefront, carefully arbitrating between competing priorities to deliver the greatest value.

This role is based out of our Form Factory 1 location in Weirton, WV. A short drive from Pittsburgh, PA!

What you'll do:
  • As a core member of the Leadership Team, you will serve as a key liaison between critical functions, including engineering, R&D, operations, and quality assurance, fostering cross-functional alignment and collaboration. You will play a central role in shaping the strategic direction of our company, harmonizing Operations, Engineering, and R&D program management efforts.

  • In this entrepreneurial environment, you will lead and mentor with an innovative and forward-thinking spirit, continually seeking opportunities to push the boundaries of program management excellence.

  • Lead and continue to improve Form's centralized Project Management Office ensuring all programs are executed under one cohesive program toolkit and communications framework. Define and execute the strategic vision for product development programs, collaborating closely with senior leadership to establish objectives, plans, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for program management.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program management playbook encompassing product development processes, tools, and best practices to optimize program execution, resource allocation, and risk management. Lead a comprehensive change management process spanning manufacturing, engineering, R&D, and Quality functions, identifying opportunities to enhance product development processes efficiently and accurately.

  • Approach this effort with a warm but tough posture - provide continuous inspiration and training to elevate the team, while also ensuring strict adherence to standard operating principles and tools. Take a hands-on, engaged approach to developing and reinforcing this community, leaving no room for deviation from consistent best practices. Directly mentor and develop a high-performing team responsible for various facets of program and project management. Maintain a firm hand on effective departmental administration, including budgets, goal setting, performance management, and talent management (hiring, career development, coaching, etc.)

  • Offer strategic guidance and support to engineering teams, aiding in initiative prioritization, resource allocation, and resolution of conflicting priorities. Collaborate with senior leadership to articulate a clear vision and roadmap for the program portfolio.

  • Oversee the capital planning process for the Program. Develop and implement a strategic capital expenditure plan aligned with the organization's business objectives. Evaluate investment opportunities and prioritize capital projects based on strategic importance, financial viability, and risk assessment. Work closely with finance, operations, and other stakeholders to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models for capital projects. Monitor and track capital expenditures against stated ROI.

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Over 15 years of experience in program & engineering management, demonstrating a track record of successfully leading complex, cross-functional programs in a technology-driven environment.

  • Deep comprehension of hardware product development and associated high volume processing, coupled with a dedication to innovation and sustainability.

  • Proven expertise in crafting and applying program management methodologies, tools, and techniques and creating a culture of program management with high adoption rates of standardized tools and practices.

  • Experience with capital budgeting, financial analysis, and risk management.

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a history of managing and cultivating high-performing program management teams.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a results-oriented mindset focused on driving impact and delivering value.

  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations and time zones.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to all company locations (CA, WV, MA) as required; anticipated monthly travel in the first year, transitioning to quarterly over time.
