Forest City Eye Care is looking to add a compassionate and driven optometrist to our team! Our office provides eye exams and glasses exclusively to children in the Rockford Public School system who otherwise would have no access to care. Want to make a big difference in the Rockford community? Then this is the office for you. We quite often see children with high myopia, amblyopia, keratoconus, etc that have never had eye exams or glasses before. These children need our help, and we would love to have you on our team. We are currently looking to hire an optometrist to be at this office 3-4 days a week.

Compensation:
-$90-$100/hr
-Free glasses/contact lenses annually
-Malpractice insurance covered
-If you are interested in working in our private practice as well, our full time benefits include 401k with 4% match, health and dental insurance, licensing fees, and PTO.
What You’ll Need:
-Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution.
-Current and Valid Optometrist License for the State of Illinois.
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and care for patients from a diverse background in a fast paced environment.
-Ability to accurately diagnose and enthusiastically treat eye conditions and disorders for patients of all ages.
-Great customer service and problem solving skills.
-1-2 years experience preferred. New grads are welcome to apply, but must be comfortable working with children.
Your Responsibilities:
-Perform comprehensive eye exams and evaluate, diagnose, and treat pathology if present using state of the art technology.
-Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses to best suit the patient’s needs.
-Facilitate outstanding patient communication and customer service during all interactions.
