To provide professional staff with clerical and tutoring assistance, and help with general supervision of students when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.
• Evidence of abilities to relate and work with a heterogeneous group of people.
• BA Degree preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Supervise students on a monitorial basis including playground, lunchroom, halls and bathroom, library, and bus loading.
• Under supervision and direction of certified teacher, work with student on an individual or small group basis.
• Perform various necessary clerical and other routine school tasks including; checking and recording student work, classroom housekeeping, locating and preparing instructional materials, typing, preparing AV materials, maintaining cumulative student files.
• Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties as necessary.
• Processes reports, types teaching materials as directed by the teacher.
• Assists with supervision of students in classrooms, study halls, media center, playground, lunchroom, hallways, bus duty as needed and directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assists with students evaluations and Individual Education Plans (IEP) as directed by the teacher.
• Transports students to job sites or alternative learning opportunities.
