A Remote Team Lead- Insurance Payment Posting will be responsible for tracking and reporting of the insurance payment posting side of our department. This will include direct supervision, reconciliation, audit, and quality assurance of Insurance Posting from both internal and external posting team.

Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for managing the Insurance Payment Posting Process within the Billing Department, including but not limited to:
    1. Pending Insurance Payments – responsible for reviewing that all outstanding insurance payments are being completed on a daily basis
    2. Claims Paid Not Posted – locate and track posting of payments identified from our internal team for posting that have not been completed
    3. Off-Site Payment Team
      1. Responsible to verify that all queries are being responded to.
      2. ii. Responsible for verifying all monthly balancing is being completed.
      3. Responsible for verifying that all manual payments that need to be completed are done.
      4. Responsible for weekly meetings with the appropriate team
      5. Responsible for any new training with the appropriate team members
      6. Commercial Lockbox zero payments
      7. Responsible for verifying that this is being completed on a regular basis
  2. Responsible for Review of Encounters / Accounts for adjustments
    1.  Responsible for review of all insurance Contractual Discounts
  3.  Team Lead will work directly with other Team Leads within the Billing Department in relation to any issues that may be found within this role or other departments for process improvement.
  4.  Responsible for interviewing and hiring and training of new staff members under this position.
  5. Responsible for working with Clinic Team Leads and Regional Clinic Managers as needed regarding questions on insurance processing
  6. Responsible for Time star approvals, requests and total hours for Medical Billing Clerks relating, but not limited to:
    1.  PTO requests
    2. Missed Punches
    3. Late Punches
    4. Unexcused Absences
    5. Addressing any attendance issues regarding any of the above mentioned items.
  7. Work with Billing Manager to determine any areas of process improvement within the department.
  8. Collage / Compile / Prepare reports as needed for the Billing Manager, when necessary
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  1. Associate’s Or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare or closely related field is preferred.
  2. 3-5 years of NextGen experience (at a high level) or a comparable EPM system.
  3. 3-5 years of Insurance Payment Posting and Adjustment Experience.
  4. Experience with working on Various Payer Websites (Commercial and Government payers).
  5. Experience in training staff preferred
  6. Experience in Managing a high volume medical billing department

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Strong computer knowledge and typing skills. Experience with excel is preferred.
  2. Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
  3. Must possess strong leadership skills, and able to coach and develop training instructions for department.
  4. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  5. Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
  6. Ability to look for opportunities to improve the current processes and work through any possible concerns that arise in current processes.
  7. Ability to respond positively to constructive criticism and direction from supervisors.
  8. Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
  9. Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
