JOB SUMMARY:  The VP, Compliance Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day oversight of the Compliance Monitoring and Testing function at the Bank as well as other Compliance Operations, such as special projects and compliance policy management, and regulatory change management. This position sits within the second line of defense and will play a key role in identifying and mitigating the Bank’s compliance risk.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the effective planning, scoping, executing, and reporting of compliance testing reviews as well as compliance regulatory issue validation activities
  • Manage employees who perform Testing and Monitoring functions
  • Build relationships with Key Stakeholders and communicate deficiencies and findings
  • Support the Bank’s Issues Management development and tracking of Compliance-identified findings
  • Develop and implement Compliance Policies and Procedures to assist the bank with maintaining compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Advise and consult with first line of defense business partners, as needed on compliance matters
  • Participate in projects that involving the Compliance Department and that align with the Bank’s Compliance Management Program
  • Stay informed of industry issues, trends, and regulatory updates
  • Coordinate activities around regulatory change management as they occur 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 6-8 years in compliance management within a financial institution, mid-size or large bank experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 4 additional years of experience required
  • CRCM or similar compliance certification preferred
  • Strong, effective, and collaborative verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Substantive knowledge of State and federal consumer compliance regulations is required
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all company levels is required
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws, regulations and applicable guidance is required
  • Ability to identify industry “best practices” for compliance programs in midsize or large banking organizations is preferred
