Purpose of job:

Obtains materials using company ERP system to achieve production schedule and goals. Resolves internal, supplier, process, and system discrepancies to ensure production schedule and business goals are achieved. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved or eliminated. Requires minimum supervision or direction to achieve production schedules and business goals.

Ensuring and balancing material supply for production, taking into account the various influencing variables such as, among others: Inventory value and quantity, purchase price, supplier strategy, deadlines, best-before dates, storage time, weights, storage space, logistical requirements (space, empties, handling) in coordination with the interfaces.

Task & Duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:

Purchases material, commodities, and services following established purchasing policies and procedures to optimize delivery and uptime.

Establishes strong partnerships with strategic suppliers critical to business

Manage assigned suppliers relationships and source, qualify and rationalize new and existing products and suppliers in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Investigate and identify qualified suppliers.

Coordinates, conducts, and participates in meetings and discussions between suppliers and/ or supplier representatives and necessary related personnel concerning supply, demand, delivery or quality.

Executes purchasing strategies and procurement programs in support of production and business goals

Responsible for developing sufficient number of suppliers to assure continuity of supply, effective competition, required quality and on-time deliveries.

Participate in instruction and training of less experienced personnel and provides guidance as necessary to assist in the performance of procurement activities.

Investigates and implements process improvements that increase productivity while reducing expenses and protecting profitability.

Requires limited supervision or direction to achieve production, business or personal goals and objectives.

May escalate issues to supervisor/manager for resolution as deemed necessary.

Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor

Other duties as assigned.

Creation and tracking of internal/external orders in general and in particular, based on SAP

Evaluations of various kinds to optimize material flow and procurement processes and implementation of resulting actions.

Data accuracy (Master Data, Order confirmations, dates, quantities, variances, under deliveries, etc.)

Empties handling, clarification of logistical issues.

Communication internally and externally

Implementation of the purchasing strategies defined by category management.

Initiation of escalation measures

Independent missing parts management

Independent coordination and clarification in case of booking differences and variances..

Collaboration with other Departments:

- Internal - All Departments

- External - Various vendors and suppliers

Requirements:

Primarily sedentary position with occasional walking and/or standing

- Frequent use of telephone

- Frequent writing and/or use of computer keyboard for data entry

- Occasional reaching and stretching

- Speak and hear clearly and distinctly in order to verbally communicate with others

- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less to be able to read and verify accuracy of numbers and dates

Qualifications for the job:

Experienced in using SAP in the area of procurement/purchasing/production planning.

Able to work independently and on own responsibility.

Strong communication skills and convincing.

Objectively confident appearance.

Curiosity and willingness to learn.

Analytical skills

MS-applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

English language
