Foodland Super Market is Hiring a Loss Prevention Agent (Maui, Hawaii) Near Maui, HI

Foodland Super Market and Sack 'N Save, Hawaii’s largest, locally owned grocery retailer, is looking for dependable, efficient, highly motivated individuals to support the Company's Security Department as Loss Prevention Agent.

Basic Function: Performs protection of company assets in accordance with approved company procedures by detecting, detaining, and arresting / trespassing shoplifters.

Principle responsibilities and duties:

  • Observes shoppers, detains and interviews individuals suspected of shoplifting in accordance with local laws
  • Completes and provides all necessary paperwork essential in referring theft cases to the police for criminal prosecution
  • Participates in court trials during the prosecution of shoplifting cases
  • Creates and maintains records of apprehensions, interviews, witnesses, evidence, and dispositions of recovered merchandise
  • Acts in the capacity of preventing merchandise theft and shrinkage reduction by monitoring store activities and ensuring employee compliance with company policies
  • Provides surveillance of contractors, vendors, etc. performing store related services
  • Maintains liaison with local police
  • Maintains public order on store/company premises as necessary.
  • Assists in internal investigations as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Driver's license and a clean Driver's abstract are required.
  • Able to work flexible shifts (day, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation.
  • Have excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication and basic computer skills.
  • Must have ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Loss Prevention/Security experience and/or Hawaii Guard Card preferred.
  • TB Clearance required
  • Must comply with all company policies and requirements.

This is a full-time hourly position; wage rate is commensurate with experience.
