Facilities Custodian

The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is a non-profit organization that has been in business for 25 years. Our mission is to serve as the primary resource for fighting hunger in Northwest Louisiana. Our vision is to ultimately end hunger in Northwest Louisiana by ensuring a consolidated network of effective food collection and distribution which will provide universal access to food in our community for our food insecure neighbors.

Position Summary: The Facilities Custodian will be responsible for keeping the Food Bank and Pantry in a clean and orderly condition by following a detailed janitorial and lawn maintenance schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Sweep, Mop, dust, scrub and vacuum all floors. This will include operating a floor cleaner on concrete areas and in the warehouse.

· Dust (low and high)

· Clean glass and windows

· Daily deep clean of all restrooms, kitchen and eating areas

· Mow lawn, trim shrubbery, clean flower beds and weed eat where necessary

· Make sure all trash is picked up on the property. This includes emptying trash and picking up litter

· All other duties as assigned

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to work independently without direct supervision

Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and work in confined areas

Must be able to safely and effectively use lawn equipment and janitorial equipment

Strong time management and organizational skills

Experience:

Must have proven janitorial/custodian/lawn service experience

Ability to be very active - walking, bending, climb a ladder, standing and lifting up to 100 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
