Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator will work at the Food Bank of Central Louisiana and its satellite program sites. This person will be responsible for identifying locations, program partners, consolidating paperwork, reviewing meal service sites, and administering the day-to-day activities of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), Backpack Program, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This position will travel within our 11 parishes that we serve.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain the Children’s Meal Program records (CACFP and SFSP) and Backpack Program. Review all submitted reports, sponsor agreements and documentation for accuracy and completion. Corrections, missing documents or changes must also be documented and maintained.
  • File and organize Food Bank program reports, invoices, and reimbursements and maintain the files for a rolling 3 years. Files should always be complete and accurate.
  • Develop and maintain accurate site contact information for current locations to ensure appropriate communication between the site and the Food Bank.
  • Review and monitor all programs according to USDA Summer Feeding Program, Backpack Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Feeding America’s Program Guidelines. Some locations require driving long distances to rural locations.
  • Monitor program’s compliance onsite including record keeping for inventory control sheets, daily meal count records, and temperature logs. Also, inspect the storage of food to ensure it meets the requirements of the program. Report all findings to Director of Programs.
  • Create and maintain program review schedule independently.
  • Research, review and implement new programs for the Food Bank of Central Louisiana to increase the meals provided to children and to support the mission to fight hunger.
  • Any other duty that is required for the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required. Some college preferred.
  • Three (3) year experience working in an office providing administrative support for CACFP, SFSP, or the Backpack programs or equivalent.
  • Background check clearance.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by our company policy without significant problems in driving history during last 5 years.
  • Comfortable driving to locations throughout our service area.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Sensitivity to work with diverse ethnic and cultural-based organizations and individuals
  • Experience supervising children
  • Experience with the USDA meal programs – SFSP, CACFP, or Backpack programs
  • Previous food service experience through a reimbursable program
  • Detail oriented, accounting comprehension, and excellent record keeping
  • Can understand and produce a budget
  • Excellent organizational, record-keeping and communication skills
  • Can effectively complete assigned tasks with little supervision
  • Food Safety certification
  • Excellent filing and organizational skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
