POSITION OVERVIEW

It is the primary responsibility of the Floral Designer to create innovative floral décor and lead floral installation or tear down and ensure that events are completed on time, in budget and meet company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Provide specialized design and floral expertise to plan, design, and create floral arrangements for events
• Select appropriate flowers, foliage, and decorative elements based on color schemes, themes, and guest preferences
• Arrange and style flowers to create visually appealing and harmonious compositions
• Participate in event setup and installation, ensuring that floral designs are executed according to the envisioned concept
• Coordinate with event planners, venue staff, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery and setup of floral arrangements
• Create floral recipes, cost sheets, order products, monitor delivery, prep containers, props, and carts for refrigeration and delivery
• Communicate project status and timelines with internal departments, clients, and vendors to maintain satisfaction
• Stay current in design trends, floral techniques, and vendor products and share with/train teams to inspire creativity
• Complete all required paperwork; maintain well-organized digital files
• Create a work environment promoting creativity, collaboration, teamwork, recognition, and mutual respect
• Organize, prioritize, install, and complete pending floral deliveries to designated locations in a timely manner
• Use proper etiquette when communicating with management via assigned two-way radios and telephones
• Organize, clean, and maintain storeroom, cooler, and floral room
• Set up and tear down displays at functions including weddings and parties
• Water assigned floral arrangements
• Follow established workplace safety procedures while completing assigned tasks
• Receive, process, and store flowers in cooler
• Attend required safety and training classes
• Provide a service or assistance to meet the needs of a guest, client, or customer
• Comply with policies and procedures of the department or section in order to complete service satisfactorily
• Provide a service for others, and provide expertise based on information keyed, gathered, studied, processed, or reviewed
• Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a floral designer or a related field is required
• Strong artistic and creative abilities with an eye for color, texture, and design aesthetics
• Proficiency in floral arranging techniques and knowledge of various floral varieties
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with guests and Members
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to last-minute changes
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to set clear priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, based on event schedules
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle and arrange delicate flowers and plants

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls. The Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

$24 per hour
