POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general to limited supervision, provides intensive, professional counseling services to a caseload of patients with substance abuse and/or mental health disorders and is responsible for development and implementation of the Family in Focus program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology or an equivalent field at a four-year college or university. At least two years' experience providing individual and/or group counseling for a caseload of patients.
Certified/Licensed Addiction Counselor, professional counselor, clinical social worker or in process of becoming certified/licensed.
Recovering individuals must have a minimum of two years of continuous chemical abstinence and must be active in support groups.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

1. Develops and implements Family in Focus program with Clinical Director. Oversees, supervises, nurtures, grows and monitors program
2. Develops core curriculum for the program and ensures that FIF counselor has been trained and is able to present
3. Available for counseling and supervision of Family Sessions
4. Provides community outreach services by serving as an Intervention Specialist
5. Sees individual patients and responsible for running groups
6. Assess assigned patients and develop individualized treatment plans
7. Conducts individual counseling sessions and family sessions with assigned patients
8. Documents individual counseling sessions with assigned customers in accordance with facility policy and procedures, State regulations and Joint Commission standards within the established time frame
9. Conducts group therapy sessions on a regular basis as scheduled
10. Documents individual and group therapy sessions within established time frames and according to policies and procedures
11. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of counseling theory and techniques
