Job Summary:

This individual will plan, organize, lead and direct the activities of the production workers on his or her production shift. The shift activities include, but are not limited to, foam extrusion, thermoforming, printing, grinding and interplant material flow needed to meet production goals.

The individual will be responsible for directing the shift activities of up to 30 people to support the changing needs of the customer. He or she will ensure that employees are properly trained and follow designated procedures that ensure safety, productivity and quality goals are met.

Through active leadership, this individual is responsible for establishing a positive and productive team through appropriate assignments and providing direct supervision.

Reporting Structure: Position reports to Plant Manager/Owners

I. Essential Job Functions:

· Plan, organize and direct the shift activities to ensure that production goals are met.

· Responsible for material flow, employee performance and product quality.

· Regularly monitor shift productivity, employee performance, absences, and take the necessary corrective action to ensure proper results.

· Provide employee coaching for employee’s job development and performance improvements by providing written documentation.

· Coordinate with other department leaders to ensure that equipment is functioning correctly, required staffing is fulfilled and production activities meet the business needs.

a. Physical Demands:

· Standing on feet ( 7 hours)

· Walking (most of the shift)

· Climbing stairs

· Bending and stooping

· Roll or push rolls of material (200 lbs )

· Manually move, build or relocate Gaylord boxes.

· Pushing and lifting into place standard pallets.

· Move, lift or position finished cases weighing up to (15 lbs)

c. Work Conditions:

· This job is performed in an open manufacturing setting. Material is produced in one building, stored in another and finished in an open warehouse building. Zone heating and fan cooling is provided to the work environment as needed.

· Shift workers and their supervisor work a rotational shift that changes weekly. The company operates its facility 24 hours a day to meet the needs of its customers.

II. Experience and Educational Requirements:

· 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Fork Truck experience helpful.

· 2-year associates degree or equivalent work experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 56 per week
