Overview

This position is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the facility’s manufacturing activities. Directs, and coordinates the work activities for assigned associates and for the resources necessary for the manufacture of the company’s products in accordance with established cost, quality, customer specifications and internal inventory goals.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Manages work assignments of production personnel and helps ensure that workload is properly distributed.
• Supervises, trains and directs the activity of assigned production personnel and reports production results and labor usage as required
• Conducts performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
• Assists the Maintenance Manager with the coordination of tool changes in conjunction with production schedule(s).
• Inputs press setup and startup parameters in accordance with established standards.
• Oversees the setup and troubleshooting of press(es) during job startups.
• Initiates process deviation protocol when press run parameters can not be maintained within standard.
• Works with production personnel to ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized.
• Assists in the compilation shift production data prior to input into the company’s production history database.
• Assists in making sure the appropriate quantity of packaging materials are available for production.
• Provides backup, break relief, and/or performs other productions tasks as directed by the Plant Manager.
• Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
• Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
• Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities.
• Ensure that the Environmental and Safety policies are followed
• Ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
• Promote the fulfillment and awareness of customer requirements, of quality system requirements, and all relevant state, federal, and local legal and regulatory requirements in Environmental and Safety aspects.
• Promotes and maintains open and productive communication throughout all levels of the organization
• Will be required to meet with the prior shift's supervisor to discuss any changes with staff, production equipment, production timeline, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITIES:Stop production for request adjustments if nonconformities are identifiedInitiate corrective actions in the event of non-compliance with legal requirements or situations of environmental risk. Designate the responsibility and authority to ensure that the requirements of the IMS are established, implemented and in accordance with the standards.Designate the responsibility and authority to inform the Management of the operation of the IMS.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity. Position requires standing/walking for extended periods of time (2-4 hours). Qualifications

Minimum of High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Experience and or OJT may be substituted for the educational requirement at the discretion of the Production Manager or Plant Manager
